Privacy Policy
01Who we are & what this covers
Arthunch LLC (“Arthunch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) makes Natch, a voice-first food tracking app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information Natch collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Natch app and any related services we provide.
By using Natch, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
02Information we collect
Account information
Natch uses Sign in with Apple to create your account. Depending on what you choose to share with Apple, we receive your name and an email address (which may be Apple’s private relay address). We never see your Apple password.
Voice and food descriptions
When you tap the mic and speak a meal, your device’s on-device speech recognition converts your voice to text. We do not record, upload, or store your audio. The resulting text — for example, “two eggs and a slice of toast” — is what we process to identify foods and estimate nutrition.
Nutrition and log data
The foods, portions, macros (protein, carbs, fat), calories, daily targets, and saved meals you log, organized by calendar day so your history is preserved.
Subscription and purchase data
Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store and managed through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (such as trial, active, or expired) and related identifiers. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — Apple handles payment.
Device and usage data
Basic technical information such as app version, device model, operating-system version, and diagnostic or crash data, used to keep the app working and to fix problems.
03How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide the core service — turning what you say into tracked foods, macros, and calories against your targets;
- Store, sync, and back up your logs and saved meals across sessions;
- Create and manage your account, your free trial, and your subscription;
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the app;
- Communicate with you about your account or important changes; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
04Voice processing & AI
Natch interprets your meals in two ways, and we want to be clear about both:
- On-device transcription. Speech-to-text happens on your iPhone using Apple’s Speech framework. Your audio stays on your device.
- AI macro estimation. The text of your food description is sent to our backend, which calls Anthropic’s Claude to interpret the description and return estimated nutrition. When the AI path isn’t used, the text is matched against the public USDA FoodData Central database instead.
These results are automated estimates and may be inaccurate. We do not use your data to train Anthropic’s models or our own, and your food descriptions are sent only to generate your results.
06Health-related data
Food and nutrition information can be sensitive. We treat your logs, targets, and saved meals as confidential, store them securely, and never sell them or use them for advertising. Natch keeps this data within the app and your account; it is not written to Apple Health, and Natch does not read your Apple Health data, unless a future version offers that and you explicitly enable it.
07Storage, security & location
Your data is stored on your device and on our backend infrastructure (Supabase), hosted in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS, and access is restricted through authentication and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
08Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we’re required to retain certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
09Your rights & choices
- Access & export. You can export your data from within the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and associated data in the app’s settings. Deleting your account also revokes the Sign in with Apple connection.
- EEA/UK (GDPR). You have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data. Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, your consent, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving Natch.
- California (CCPA/CPRA). You have rights to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — which we don’t do. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10Children’s privacy
Natch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it. Users under the age of majority should only use Natch with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Natch after an update means you accept the revised policy.
